Book & Practice Circle

The book opened something.
This is where you train it.

Eight weeks. A small group. Reading and practising Shift to Flow together — until what the book describes stops being a possibility and starts being something you have actually felt.

What shifts

Not added. Recovered.

Most of us are running on a fraction of our actual capacity — not because something is wrong, but because the conditions that allow the rest to open have rarely been present. The circle creates those conditions. What shifts is not learned. It is restored.

Resilience

The capacity to stay resourceful when pressure rises — not by gripping harder, but by remaining grounded in more of yourself.

Clarity below thinking

The kind of clarity that doesn't come from thinking harder — it comes from dropping below the cognitive, into the body's own intelligence.

More energy

Not from doing more — from releasing what's been held. Energy that was frozen in patterns of protection, freed for life and work.

Collective intelligence

Most of us know it's possible. In the circle, you feel it — what it is to relax into something larger than your own thinking and let it carry you.

The groove

A way of moving through your week that becomes native — not a technique you remember to apply, but a different ground to stand on.

Focus without cost

Real focus — not the narrowed, effortful kind, but the open, steady kind that comes when the nervous system is no longer in defence.

What actually happens

Simple, regular, held.

Over 8 weeks, your group reads Shift to Flow together. Not as a study group. As a practice group. Each week you meet live — reading, practising, sharing, and listening at a quality that most working environments rarely allow. The book becomes the common ground; the circle becomes the field.

What happens in the sessions cannot be fully described in advance — and that is the point. You experience what the book describes, rather than understanding it further. Co-regulation, collective intelligence, sensing beyond the cognitive — these stop being concepts and become something you know in your body.

The group is small by design: 5 to 7 people. Small enough that no one disappears. Large enough that a real relational field forms.

At a glance

8 Weeks — one live session each week
5–7 Participants — small enough to be real
90 Minutes per session — live, online, guided
25 Somatic practices from the book — one per week, then daily
1 CoGrow facilitator — holds the space throughout
The Nervous System Gym — your home after the circle ends
The facilitation

The difference is what the
facilitator carries into the room.

Collective intelligence is something most people believe in but have rarely — if ever — actually felt. Not because it isn't real, but because the conditions that allow it to emerge are almost never present: regulated nervous systems, genuine safety, a guide who can hold the field at the depth required. Such spaces are rare.

When those conditions are present, something unexpected happens: people relax. Not into passivity — into something larger than their own thinking. The holding of everything alone releases. Intelligence that wasn't accessible through effort becomes available through presence. This is what the book's foreword points toward. The circle is where you find out it's actually true.

The facilitators at CoGrow have done this work in themselves — not as a technique but as a way of being. The book calls this training the capacities of Athletes of Regenerative Leadership. What it means practically is that the quality of the container depends on what the guide brings into it. What you'll find here works at that level.

This is also why the circle is the beginning of something — not a standalone event. The ground you build in 8 weeks becomes the foundation for everything that follows in the Gym.

Who this is for

Not for everyone.
For you, if the book touched something.

You don't need a formal leadership title. You need to lead something — a team, a project, an organisation, your own life. And you need to have read Shift to Flow, or be reading it now, and felt that it was pointing at something real.

The only prerequisite is the book — and the willingness to practise, not just understand. Whether you're new to CoGrow's work or have been in the room before: if you want to read Shift to Flow together with others who take it seriously, this is the place.

If you haven't yet worked with CoGrow — the circle is where you start. By the end of 8 weeks you'll have the foundation: the somatic ground, the experience of co-regulating with others, the basic groove that everything in the Gym builds on.

"I want to live what I'm reading — not just take notes."

"I know the theory. I want the practice to become my default."

"I want to do this with people who take it seriously too."

Questions

Common questions

Do I need to have finished the book?

No — but you should be reading it. The circle reads alongside you. We recommend having started it before the first session so you arrive with some sense of the territory.

When are the sessions?

We collect your timezone at booking and schedule the group to work across its members' locations. You'll receive the full schedule before the first session. Sessions are 90 minutes, weekly.

What if I miss a session?

Life happens. Sessions are not recorded out of respect for the group's confidentiality, but the facilitator will check in with you to keep you connected to the arc. One missed session is fine; more than that disrupts the group's coherence.

What happens after 8 weeks?

The circle is your entry into the Nervous System Gym — the ongoing community where the practice continues. You'll arrive with the ground already built: the somatic baseline, the experience of practising with others, the groove. Some circles continue meeting monthly as a Board — a facilitated peer group that keeps going deeper. That door opens at the end of week 8.

The book pointed at something. The circle is where you find out it's real.
